Reading the site

You can read CarWatch without creating an account. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability, and we use error monitoring to detect and fix faults.

If you contact us

If you email us, we use your name, email address and message only to respond and, where relevant, to report on or correct a story. We don't sell or share your details with advertisers.

Staff accounts

Our editorial dashboard uses essential cookies to keep team members signed in securely. These are not used on public pages for tracking.

Embedded videos

Some articles include YouTube videos. They load only when you choose to play them, at which point YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
