CarWatch NZ covers the New Zealand new-car market: launches, pricing, technology, electric and hybrid vehicles, and practical buying advice. We pay particular attention to the Chinese and emerging brands arriving here, including BYD, GWM, MG, Chery, Geely and the new names that follow them.

What we publish

• News: launches, pricing, recalls and industry developments relevant to New Zealand.
• Reviews and first drives: only for vehicles we have driven ourselves. Every review says what we drove, for how long, and who supplied the car.
• First looks: new models explained from manufacturer information, clearly labelled as such, with no driving impressions.
• Coming to NZ: upcoming models, labelled by how certain their New Zealand arrival is.
• Buying guides: practical, independent advice for New Zealand buyers.

Manufacturers and distributors sometimes lend us vehicles or invite us to launches. That never buys favourable coverage, and we disclose it on every story where it applies.
