Jaecoo J8 Super Hybrid pre-orders open from $68,990
A New Zealand dealer is taking pre-orders for the seven-seat Jaecoo J8 SHS-P Summit AWD at $68,990 plus on-road costs, ahead of final local availability details.

A New Zealand pre-order listing has put the seven-seat Jaecoo J8 Super Hybrid Summit AWD at $68,990 plus on-road costs. Winger Motors lists the plug-in hybrid SUV for pre-order, while Jaecoo NZ’s own model page presents the J8 SHS-P as a local model and notes that vehicle information can change.
The J8 SHS-P combines a petrol engine and electric motors in an all-wheel-drive system. Jaecoo quotes combined outputs of 315kW and 580Nm, an electric range of up to 169km on the NEDC test cycle and a combined range of up to 1,000km. These are manufacturer claims and are not directly comparable with WLTP figures. Real-world distance will depend on driving and charging conditions.
The J8 is a three-row SUV with seven seats. Jaecoo says cargo space reaches 738 litres with the third row folded. The local product page also lists a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and all-wheel drive. Overseas-market imagery and equipment can differ from the version supplied to New Zealand.
At $68,990 before on-road costs, the dealer-listed Summit AWD positions the J8 SHS-P as a large electrified SUV with a long electric-only claim and the flexibility of a petrol engine for longer journeys. The pre-order price should be checked with the retailer before placing an order, as dealer offers and final supply terms may change.
Jaecoo NZ has not published a detailed delivery schedule on its model page. Buyers should confirm local arrival timing, final grade equipment, warranty and the test cycle used for range figures directly with Jaecoo or their chosen dealer.
